My daughter Sammi largely got her part as Esperanza on Netflix's Raising Dion because her audition video made everyone in the room laugh. When we filmed her audition at first she was being too conservative and holding her own personality back, so I told her to just be her regular silly sassy self and deliver the lines with your unique personality coming through. I told her they are either going to love it or say it is not what they are looking for... but they loved it!
