There can be a very offensive baggage tied to the saying "he suffers from [this disability]", not because some disabilities don't involve some type of suffering on some level, but because of the baggage of how that phrase was used in the past to imply that a person with a disability cannot have a good, full, or meaningful life. It implies they are 2nd class citizens when it comes to their quality of life, and that simply is not true and a horrible assumption to make.

Ableism is discrimination and social prejudice against people with disabilities. It characterizes persons as defined by their disabilities and as inferior to the non-disabled.

Some people with disabilities would say they suffer more from ableism (the ableist environment they live in) than their disability.
